Wild 2-point conversion during Tumwater-Capital football game Sept. 22 makes its way to ESPN

The over-the-shoulder, wedding bouquet-style pass thrown by Tumwater High School quarterback Jayden Croft to Jaimie Bryant for a 2-point conversion against then-No. 1-ranked Capital on Sept. 22 has drawn a lot of national attention (Deadspin, Yahoo! Sports, etc.), and has now made its way to ESPN’s “The Scott Van Pelt Show.” Van Pelt, a SportsCenter anchor, and Ryen Russillo discussed the Croft-to-Bryant play during Tuesday’s show, as well as another “bouquet pass” that another high school team did recently on a fake field goal attempt.

During that Sept. 22 game at Ingersoll Stadium, Tumwater trailed Capital, 21-19, with 2 minutes, 59 seconds left in regulation after a 4-yard touchdown by Bryant. For the 2-point conversion, Croft flipped the over-the-shoulder pass to Bryant in the end zone that tied the game at 21-all. Tumwater went on to beat Capital in double overtime, 35-28.
