Two transients arrested in west Olympia slaying

CHELSEA KROTZER

Two 21-year-old transients were arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a man on Olympia’s west side.

According to Olympia police:

A man thought to be 35 to 40 years old was found injured on a sidewalk at 6:10 p.m. Friday off Cooper Point Road. Medics arrived and discovered he’d been stabbed. The man later died; he has yet to be identified.

The man and suspects lived in an Olympia transient camp and had an “altercation” Friday afternoon that led to the stabbing. They have been booked into Thurston County Jail.

The area of Cooper Point Road Southwest between Evergreen Park Drive Southwest and Carriage Drive Southwest was closed off during the investigation Friday night.
