Thurston County participating in Great Washington ShakeOut drill

Thurston County wants to make sure everyone is earthquake ready by participating in the October 18 Great Washington ShakeOut earthquake drill.

The county is asking residents to join the Washington Emergency Management Division, Thurston County Emergency Management and the 500,000 registered participants for the drill scheduled at 10:18 a.m. Thursday.

Registration and participation is free. Individuals, families, businesses, schools, community organizations, hospitals, clinics and those who work with animals and livestock can register by visiting www.shakeout.org.
