Olympia man pleads guilty to voyeurism for peering at girl

JEREMY PAWLOSKI

A 28-year-old Olympia man pleaded guilty to voyeurism Thursday for looking through a 9-year-old girl’s bedroom window in June as she dressed for school at her home on Cooper Point Road.

In exchange for Curtis Rudolph’s guilty plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of luring. Rudolph was charged with luring after he allegedly approached an 11-year-old girl May 29 at the Talisman Apartments on Ensign Road, told her she was a “cutie” and asked her to come home with him.

Thurston County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Skinder said he will recommend that Rudolph serve one year in prison at his sentencing, scheduled for Nov. 29 in Superior Court. After Rudolph is released, he will have to register as a sex offender.

Rudolph’s plea was an Alford plea, in which a defendant does not admit guilt but concedes there would be enough evidence to convict had the case gone to trial.

According to court records, Rudolph has a long history of arrests, including for lewd conduct in Olympia Municipal Court in January 2012, and a juvenile case for indecent exposure in 1999.
