Olympia police have completed their investigation into whether former Capital Playhouse interim artistic director Troy Fisher possessed child pornography. Now, the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office will review the results and consider possible charges.

The investigation began after Fisher, 52, was reported missing July 24. He was found at a Safeway on Olympia’s west side at 1:45 a.m. the next day after calling 911 from a pay phone.

Fisher told police he had no idea what happened to him while he was missing.

Police arrested Fisher on July 27 on suspicion of possession of child pornography. While searching Fisher’s home and computer for clues about why he went missing, police found two photos of boys between ages 10 and 13 “engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” court records state.

No charges were filed after his preliminary court appearance in August, but an investigation continued. It was completed Wednesday.

The Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office requested that Pierce County take the case to avoid any conflicts of interest. Thurston Prosecuting Attorney Jon Tunheim’s wife is on the Capital Playhouse board of directors, and his children have been involved in Playhouse programs.
