Air Force

Air Force Airman Naomi H. Braaten graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is a 2010 graduate of Rainier High School, and the daughter of Sammie Preble of Olympia.

Air Force Airman Jeremy S. Cruz graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Cruz is the son of Sheree Cruz of Lacey, and a 2010 graduate of North Thurston High School.

Air Force Airman Richard J. Dibble graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Dibble is the son of Greg and Debbie Dibble of Olympia, and a 2006 graduate of North Thurston High School.

Air Force Reserve Airman Rachel M. Preble graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Preble is the daughter of Sammie Preble of Olympia, and sister of Hannah Dennis of Tacoma.

Army

Army Reserve Spec. Daniel T. Arden has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Arden is the son of Andrew and Marta Arden of Roy, and a 1998 graduate of Yelm High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2003 from the University of Washington.

Army Pvt. Jay W. Klement has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Klement is the son of Jay Klement of Fort Hood, Texas, and a 2011 graduate of South Sound High School, Lacey.

Army Reserve Pvt. Sara Rodriguez has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Rodriguez is the daughter of Ruben Rodriguez of Yelm.

Tatiana A. Western has received an Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) scholarship to Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Va. Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the student cadet receives a bachelor’s degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Army. Western is the daughter of Michael Western of Shelton.

Army National Guard

Army National Guard Pvt. Travis M. Rickey graduated from the Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data Systems Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Rickey is the son of Michael Rickey of Lacey, and Misty Reese of Graham. He is a 2010 graduate of North Thurston High School.

Navy

Navy Chief Petty Officer Jeffrey M. Olson, son of Sharon and Gordon Olson of Olympia, recently received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for outstanding achievement while serving at Naval Station, Newport, RI.
