Lacey man sentenced in federal court

Staff report

A Lacey man was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison Monday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma after earlier pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle:

Dartania Davis, 34, had prior convictions for assault and drug possession which bar him from possessing a firearm. The FBI's South Sound Gang Task Force began an investigation that led to Davis' most recent conviction in May, after a learning that Davis had moved from Pierce County to Lacey without informing his probation officer.

Davis was arrested for the violation, and a search of his vehicle turned up 60 oxycodone pills and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
