UPDATED: Rochester woman in critical condition after crash near Tenino

A Rochester woman is in critical condition after driving off the road near Tenino and having a fence post hit her in the head Saturday night.

Colleen L. Stuart, 50, was driving a 2002 Toyota pickup truck south at 7:03 p.m. near the 16000 block of Old Highway 99 near Mima Acres Road when she apparently drove off the road to the right and through a wooden fence, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill.

A fence post went through the pickup and "struck her in the head," Gill said.

Stuart was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

"We do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor, but the crash is still under investigation," Gill said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
