A Rochester woman died Sunday after driving off Old Highway 99 and through a fence near Tenino Saturday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Colleen L. Stuart, 50, was driving a 2002 Toyota pickup truck south at 7:03 p.m. near the 16000 block of Old Highway 99 near Mima Acres Road when she apparently drove off the road to the right and through a wooden fence, according to Trooper Guy Gill.

A fence post went through the pickup and "struck her in the head," Gill said.

Stuart was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries. She died Sunday.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
