Election results are alienating, disappointing

BRIAN OFFORD

Tuesday’s election results leaves me feeling like a foreigner in my own country.

My friends and neighbors, people I thought I knew, re-elected a president who is bankrupting our country, and two county commissioners who care more about gophers than people; also voted their values, legalizing a third self-indulgent substance (after tobacco and alcohol) harmful to public health and same-sex marriage that defiles the Christian values on which our nation was built.

I am so angry, so hurt, so disappointed, for it seems my children and all the younger crowd that played such a pivotal role in making all this happen truly is a lost generation.

I love my country and I’m not going to leave it, but I no longer feel part of it.

The state and county are different. I’m getting out before I lose my values and any more rights.
