Alpine Experience will run ski buses
The Alpine Experience is offering bus service from Olympia to White Pass and Olympia to Crystal Mountain Resort this ski season. Riders who purchase their tickets now will receive a discount. The White Pass X-Press will run on Thursdays from Jan. 10 through March 14. Whitey’s Magic Bus to Crystal Mountain, new this year, will run Tuesdays from Jan. 8-March 12. The White Pass X-Press will be hosted again by Team Alpine athlete Teri Bevelacqua. She chaperoned buses for her children years ago and has ridden the other buses for a long time. Part of her job is to help riders have fun. So there will be theme days, activities, events, prizes, deals and more. The bus will leave at 7 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. In its inaugural year, Whitey’s Magic Bus will be hosted by Alex ‘Whitey’ White. The bus will depart from Olympia at 7 a.m. and return about 7 p.m. White will lead games and contests as well. The cost to ride a bus for all 10 weeks is $250 through Nov. 30. After that, the cost will be $300. Joe Hyer, co-owner of the store, said last season people commented they wanted to ride the bus more than once, but couldn’t commit to 10 straight weeks. In response, the store has created the Cascade Flex Pass. It allows you to buy eight vouchers for a seat on either the White Pass X-Press or Whitey’s Magic Bus on any week, as long as seats are available. The cost is $219 and must be purchased by Nov. 30. Beginning Dec. 10, you can turn in all eight vouchers for tickets to specific weeks or you can wait and trade them in with each use. Vouchers can be turned in for tickets right up until the bus leaves or is sold out. Vouchers not used by March 14 will be good as $25 gift cards at Alpine Experience, Hyer said. Single-day seats will be $30 round trip. All seats not sold to subscribers will go on sale Dec. 10. Tickets will be available until the bus leaves each week, or when all the seats are sold, which ever comes first. To purchase your tickets, stop at the store at 408 Olympia Ave., Olympia.
