A Rochester woman died Sunday after she drove off the road near Tenino on Saturday night and a fence post hit her in the head.

Colleen L. Stuart, 50, was driving a 2002 Toyota pickup south at 7:03 p.m. near the 16000 block of Old Highway 99 near Mima Acres Road when she apparently drove off the road to the right and through a wooden fence, said Washington State Patrol trooper Guy Gill. A fence post went through the truck and “struck her in the head,” Gill said.

Stuart was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries and died Sunday, Gill said.

“We do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor, but the crash is still under investigation,” Gill said.
