Republican premise missed the mark

T he election is thankfully over. The Republicans campaigned on the premise that Barack Obama was a failure and that they would achieve a Senate majority. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the day after the 2008 election, said, ”Our top priority is to make Barack Obama a one-term president.” The failure was Mitch McConnell’s, as was his ambition to be Senate majority leader. “So it goes.”
