The Thurston County SWAT team surrounded a home in the 8800 block of 13th Avenue North near Hawks Prairie Friday afternoon, after Lacey police learned a Mustang stolen out of the SeaTac area was sitting in the garage.

The SWAT team entered and cleared the home about 4 p.m. Friday, but no one was inside, Lacey Police Cmdr. Jim Mack said. Mack said an investigation into recent car thefts led Lacey police to the home.

In addition to the stolen vehicle, Mack said Friday that police had also recovered a gun inside the residence. Police were still searching the residence for evidence and possibly other stolen items late Friday afternoon, he said.
