A 19-year-old Cosmopolis-area man was killed overnight in a single-car wreck off Lund Road, about a mile north of Highway 101, according to Lt. Matt Stowers with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department.

It appears the driver failed to negotiate a curve and went off the west side of the road, eventually striking a tree, Stowers said.

“This morning, at about 8:30 a.m., a couple of walkers located the vehicle and the subject,” Stowers said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, however it appears that speed and alcohol may have been factors, he added. The man’s name has not yet been released by the Sheriff’s Department.
