Send inaugural money to the East Coast

A Nov. 16 story in The Olympian described plans to move the Governor’s Inaugural Ball from the state Capitol to Saint Martin’s University.

May I suggest a solution? Do not have all the hoopla on Jan. 16. Instead, just have coffee and cake (donated, of course) to be held at the Capital Dome or the Governor’s Mansion.

All monies that would have been spent for the inaugural can be saved and sent to the East Coast states for the people affected by superstorm Sandy.

Also, let us – the people and governor of Washington – encourage other states to do the same, including our president, who already had his inaugural four years ago! I think that is the best thing we could do to ease the affected states to rebuild their communities.
