The Thurston County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who was shot early Wednesday at her residence as 30-year-old Barbara Giles. Giles was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia following the incident and died Saturday. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

The shooting was reported at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday about four miles north of Shelton on Tyler Lane.

Two men at the door woke the woman, and she was shot when she opened it, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies searched the area for several hours but did not find the suspects, who apparently fled on foot.
