Land grabs fuel weapons industry

The rush of United States politicians of all stripes to defend Israel no matter what is a disgusting display of just how much our political system is in the grasp of fanatical Zionism. It ought to be clear to even the least thoughtful that peace does not serve the aims of the Israeli political class, or for that matter the U.S. arms industry. Time and again just as calm is about to prevail, Israel chooses to stir the pot with more land grabs, property destruction or murders, only to be given political and financial aid by the U.S. government.

Enough of this sickness. The claim that Israel has the right to defend itself is little more than a slogan to excuse the expanding land grabs and murder committed by Israel against Palestinians. Palestinians deserve the right of self-defense and peaceful dignity. It is past time to call to account the Israel firsters here in this country that use our tax dollars to make this kind of inhumanity possible.
