Florida nabs Stevens on parole count

TAMPA, Fla. – Former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, a graduate of River Ridge High School in Lacey, has been arrested for a parole violation in Florida.

According to booking records, Stevens was arrested in Hillsborough County, Fla., on Wednesday morning.

Two weeks ago, Stevens was arrested in Kirkland for investigation of assault following what police said was an argument with U.S. women’s soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo.

Both athletes played at the University of Washington.

A Kirkland Municipal Court judge released Stevens after a court appearance, saying there was no evidence connecting Stevens to any assault. Stevens and Solo were then married.

Solo said Tuesday in Portland, where she is appearing with the women’s national team, that she and Stevens are happy.

Stevens was a first-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2002.

The parole he is accused of violating stems from his arrest in 2010 while he was a player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was arrested the night before a game for possession of marijuana.
