Tuesday’s highlights

Brock Wade’s runner in the lane with 3.2 seconds remaining gave the W.F. West Bearcats a 61-60 victory over River Ridge in the teams’ 2A Evergreen Conference boys basketball opener Tuesday night. The Bearcats had as much as a nine-point lead in the second half, but an 11-0 run by River Ridge helped put the Hawks up, 57-56, with 2:27 left. Senior Brad Wallace, who finished with 20 points, gave the Hawks (3-4 overall) a 60-59 lead with 12 seconds left before Wade’s game-winning bucket at the post. Wade, a senior wing, finished with a game-high 23 points.

Jared Eidenmuller poured in a game-high 29 points and was one of four Capital players in double figures in its 78-58 victory over Tumwater in the teams’ EvCo opener.

Josh Ifanse and Jacob Burgess had 12 points apiece to rally Black Hills to a 49-47 victory over Aberdeen.

Mo Donovan and Emily Fisher combined for 33 of Aberdeen’s 58 points in a 58-45 girls basketball win over Black Hills in a 2A EvCo opener.

Kelsey Eygabroad’s 24 points, seven steals, seven assists and six rebounds helped Rainier to a 54-46 1A Southwest Washington Evergreen Division victory over Montesano.

Tumwater evened its record at 3-3, defeating Capital, 44-36, in the teams’ EvCo opener. Lacye Groening had a game-high 18 points for the T-Birds.

W.F. West held River Ridge to nine second-half points in a 57-24 win over the Hawks.

Nine of Timberline’s 10 victories came on pins for a 60-18 3A Narrows League wrestling win over Mount Tahoma. mwochnick@theolympian.com
