Alissa Thurman has been named business development manager of Satsop Business Park, the former stand-alone operation that is now set to become a Port of Grays Harbor division.

Thurman, who has a master's degree in public administration from The Evergreen State College, previously was a city planner for the City of Hoquiam. She will be responsible for business development and operations, and will work with Satsop Business Park's existing staff.

Satsop Business Park Chief Executive Tami Garrow is set to retire in March 2013.

Thurman's first day is Jan. 3.
