Four people were injured in a head on crash after a car crossed the center lane near Rochester Sunday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported at around 3:08 p.m. on state Route 12 near Denmark Street Southwest.

J. Vidal Dominguez Mireles, 54, of Centralia was driving a van west on state Route 12 and allegedly crossed the center lane to avoid stopped traffic, according to a State Patrol news release.

The car hit a 2008 Dodge Avenger head on.

Dominguez Mireles and his passenger, Rita S. Dominguez, 54, of Warden, were taken to Providence Centralia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Trooper Guy Gill.

The driver of the Dodge, Angela M. Saxon, 40, of Rochester, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries. The passenger, Eric W. Saxon, 41, of Rochester, was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Gill said.

Speed and inattention contributed to the crash, Gill said. Charges are pending. The road was reopened by 6:30 p.m.
