Medical Center should do the right thing

December 19, 2012

As an employee of Capital Medical Center in Olympia, I am both proud and uneasy recently. Our UFCW 21 union is working diligently to negotiate a new contract with Capital Medical on behalf of employees like myself. One very important topic during this negotiation is the return of our approximate 4 percent 401(k) match.

We have been without a 401(k) match for two years now. With all the positive growth our hospital has experienced, the press regarding our “tripling revenue,” and not to mention all the national awards we receive for our fantastic care we provide, I feel hopeful and convinced that Capital Medical Center will do the right thing and bring back our 401(k) match this next contract. Way to go CMC, we know you will do the right thing!
