Thurston jobless rate rises to 6.9 percent in November

Thurston County unemployment rose to 6.9 percent in November from a revised 6.7 percent jobless rate in October, according to state Employment Security Department data.

The initial jobless rate for October was 6.9 percent, but then it was revised to 6.7 percent, the data show.

Seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment was 7.8 percent in November. The national jobless rate was 7.7 percent last month.

Regional jobless rates in November, not seasonally adjusted:

-King County (Seattle, Bellevue): 6.5 percent.

-Kitsap County: 6.5 percent.

-Thurston County: 6.9 percent.

-Pierce County: 7.9 percent.

-Mason County: 9.1 percent.

-Grays Harbor County: 11.4 percent.

-Lewis County: 11.5 percent.
