Kudos to Lisa Cosmillo of the Inaugural Ball Committee, Gov.-elect Jay Inlsee, Joyce Turner, director of the Department of Enterprise Services, and Saint Martin’s University for agreeing to hold the 2013 Inaugural Ball on the state Capitol Campus where it has been located for decades.

The City Beautiful Capitol Group of buildings is the fitting and proper venue for the grandest quadrennial event in our state capital city. Celebrating the centennial at the Temple of Justice, the first of the neo-classical buildings to be occupied in 1913, will be extraordinary since all will be welcome to view its Doric colonnade of Wilkenson sandstone and dance in the grand foyer of Alaskan gray marble. It is heartening to see reasonable minds come to agreement on the ball’s historic location so we can properly welcome the Inslees to Olympia.
