Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew had surgery on his left foot.

The surgery was performed in Charlotte on Friday as the team placed him on injured reserve the same day. He had missed the last nine games after suffering the injury in an Oct. 21 loss at Oakland.

The 27-year-old UCLA product finished the season with 414 yards rushing with a touchdown one season after leading the NFL in rushing yards.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection is expected to be sidelined until late May or early June.
