Wind advisory issued for Puget Sound region

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the region, including parts of Thurston County with gusts up to 50 miles per hour predicted through the afternoon and evening.

Affected cities include Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle, Bremerton, Bellevue and the Lake Lawrence area in Thurston County.

The advisory is in effect until midnight.

Forecasters said the afternoon will bring sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph likely.

Power outages and downed trees are possible.
