WEDNESday’s highlights A 12-2 run over the final 61/2 minutes of the second half helped Stadium beat Yelm, 55-36, in Narrows 4A boys basketball. Jordan Powers tallied nine of his team-high 14 points in the first half, and Lucious Brown added 10 of his 12 points off the bench. Dale Sullivan led all scorers with 17 for the Tornados. Brian Neal nailed a 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining in overtime to give Mount Tahoma a 64-63 victory over Timberline, handing the Blazers just their second loss in seven games. Donaven Dorsey paced the Blazers (6-6 overall) with 17 points — one of three players in double figures. Elijah Sanders had 13 points and Tyler Gartner had 11 also for Timberline. Westly Harrison and Tyler Speaks each had 13 points to give Shelton its first win in 3A Narrows League play, a 43-40 victory over North Thurston (2-9). In spite of 12 points from Max Fortier and 11 apiece from Brendan Leonard and Michael Champlin, South Kitsap handed Olympia a 54-49 loss. North Thurston prevented Shelton from scoring a field goal in the third quarter of a 47-25 3A Narrows win over the Highclimbers in girls basketball. Katherine Welcome led all scorers with 13 points for the Rams. Sarah Snodgrass (14 points), Jona Spiller (13) and Jenna Randich (10) scored in double figures for Olympia in its 70-34 4A Narrows win over South Kitsap. Sarah McKee scored a game-high 16 points in Timberline’s 66-48 win over Mount Tahoma. Anushka Maldonado scored a season-high 25 points in Yelm’s 62-35 win over Stadium. mwochnick@theolympian.com
