The Olympia School Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Knox Administrative Center, 1113 Legion Way S.E., Olympia.

Agenda items include: a presentation about Entertainment Explosion’s “Really Big Shoe” (an annual variety show that benefits homeless student programs); an update on the district’s energy consumption and savings and a presentation about staff allocations to schools by level and category. The board also will discuss and possibly vote on a design for Garfield Elementary School’s modernization and addition.

After the meeting, the board will meet in executive session to conduct superintendent Dick Cvitanich’s mid-year evaluation.

The board also will discuss the qualifications of the district’s Director of Communications and Community Relations. Rebecca Japhet, a communications director with the Washington State Legislature, is listed in the School Board’s personnel report as the new hire for the position, effective Jan. 21.
