Booze bills are the topic of the day in the House Government Oversight & Accountability Committee. Another bill before the committee, House Bill 1001, would ban people from purchasing liquor at self-checkout machines. The bill hearings will take place at 9 a.m. in Hearing Room E of the John L. Later, at 1:30 p.m., the Higher Education Committee will be meeting to hear recommendations from the legislative advisory committee to the Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET) Committee. The committee is expected to call for closing the GET program to all future participants as a way to close a projected program deficit.

A motorcycle rally will take place on the west side of the Capitol campus in support of House Bill 1007, which would require vehicles carrying loads of gravel and rocks to be covered to prevent spillage. The rally will take place from 2-4:30 p.m.
