THURSTON COUNTY: Company acquires land for steel pipe facility

A company called USA Investment Group LLC has acquired 350 acres zoned for industrial and commercial use in McCleary for a steel pipe manufacturing facility.

According to a news release from the city:

Construction of the plant, which will obtain rolled steel via rail, is expected to cost more than $200 million, and the plant will employ 400 people. The plant, which will serve the oil- and gas-exploration industry in the U.S. and Canada, is expected to be operational in late 2014.
