A man who allegedly called the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, saying he had access to guns and was near the courthouse, will not be arrested.

The courthouse complex was locked down after the call Wednesday morning, and deputies swarmed the outdoor areas of the courthouse as a security measure. The lockdown lasted less than an hour.

Deputies tracked down the man and talked to him on the phone twice Wednesday, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ray Brady said. The man was upset about a case being handled by the Prosecutor’s Office, Brady said.

An investigation determined that the man’s call didn’t rise to the level of a crime, Brady said Thursday. He added that the Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate the case in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office.

Officials at the Prosecutor’s Office could not be reached for comment Thursday.
