WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Is this Timberline’s year to break through and bring home a state trophy? The highest finish for the Blazers has been fifth, but the team is one of the favorites going in after winning last weekend’s 3A/2A District 3 tournament in Tacoma. Bernadine Dale, with a 167 regular-season average, was one of four Timberline bowlers who had the Top 10 averages in the league. … Cortnie Brathovd, of North Thurston, had the area’s highest season average (184) in 32 games. … Ashley Aarts, who had the 2A Evergreen Conference’s third-highest season average (161.7), earned her second state berth after rolling a 635 in three games at the 3A/2A District 4 tournament at Tumwater Lanes, including a 265 in Game 1. … This weekend will be the final event for Shelton coach Curt Snyder, who is retiring. He’s been the Highclimbers’ coach since 2003.
