Two level 3 sex offenders will reside in Thurston County

Two Level III sex offenders have registered to live in Thurston County.

According to a press release:

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is making a general notification regarding Level three sex offender, Harold Olson, Jr., 37. A general notification occurs when an offender registers in Thurston County as a Level III offender or when an offender’s acts and/or behaviors are considered to be a high risk to the community.

On or around December 22, 1989, Olson pleaded guilty in Thurston County Juvenile Court to two counts of first-degree rape of a child, and one count of first-degree child molestation. He was sentenced to 50-68 weeks confinement. The convictions stem from Olson, between the ages of 14 and 15, sexually assaulting a nine-year-old male family member.

On June 7, 2008, Olson pleaded guilty in Thurston County Superior Court to one count of dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He was sentenced to a total of 60 months confinement. The conviction stems from Olson downloading child pornographic images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Olson, Jr. is registered with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office as a transient / Level III offender. He is described as a white male, 6 feet and 300 lbs., with brown hair and hazel eyes.

A general public notification also has been made regarding 26-year-old Level III sex offender, James Robert Jurss.

On Oct. 11, 2000, Jurss pleaded guilty in the state of Illinois to two counts of criminal sexual contact. Jurss was sentenced to home detention with court ordered treatment for up to 60 months. The conviction stems from Jurss, at age 14, sexually assaulting two male neighbors.

Jurss has registered with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office as a Level III offender. He will be residing in the 4800 block of 28th Ave. SE, in Lacey. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches and 187 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
