WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Is this Timberlines year to break through and bring home a state trophy? The highest finish for the Blazers has been fifth, but the team is one of the favorites going in after winning last weekends 3A/2A District 3 tournament in Tacoma. Bernadine Dale, with a 167 regular-season average, was one of four Timberline bowlers who had the Top 10 averages in the league. Cortnie Brathovd, of North Thurston, had the areas highest season average (184) in 32 games. Ashley Aarts, who had the 2A Evergreen Conferences third-highest season average (161.7), earned her second state berth after rolling a 635 in three games at the 3A/2A District 4 tournament at Tumwater Lanes, including a 265 in Game 1. This weekend will be the final event for Shelton coach Curt Snyder, who is retiring. Hes been the Highclimbers coach since 2003.
