Things didn’t get much better in the second half. The Yellowjackets grabbed their largest lead at 56-21 with 11:44 remaining.
Shelby Ferguson scored eight points to lead the Saints (11-10 overall, 4-7 GNAC), who have lost three in a row.
Concordia 60, Evergreen 53: The Geoducks struggled to find their shot all night, hitting 28 percent, as they dropped their fifth straight. Jessica Denmon posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Evergreen. Sadee Jones had 11 points and Sammi Clark chipped in 10.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Western Oregon 72, Saint Martin’s 68: In spite of committing only seven turnovers and three players scoring in double figures, the Saints dropped their fourth straight game. Roger O’Neill led Saint Martin’s with 17 points on 7-for-17 shooting. Brady Bomber had 14 points and Matt Dotson had 10.
Bomber’s 3-pointer with 1:12 to play cut the deficit to five at 68-63, and another 3-pointer by O’Neill made it 72-68 with 6 seconds left, but SMU got no closer.
Concordia 78, Evergreen 67: The Geoducks couldn’t overcome the hot shooting of the Cavs’ Willy Ligon, who hit five 3-pointers, dropping Evergreen to 2-20 overall.
Frankie Johnson led Evergreen with 16 points.
