Stop dragging city feet on off-leash dog park

GAIL GATES

I would like to ask Mayor Stephen Buxbaum why the City of Olympia has not acquired some of the land off of Little Baseball Association (LBA) woods for an off-leash dog area? Are you aware that more people are probably using it every day in the cold, damp winter, than all other city parks combined, because dog owners are compelled to go out exercising no matter what the weather does?

Why, why, why is there no reasonable, legal place for us to go? The city must stop dragging its feet, over-thinking, over-planning and self-sabotaging the simple need to provide a place for the tax-paying citizens who would use a park like this year-round more than any other group of people.

If any of the land next to LBA can be acquired from developer D.R. Horton for this purpose, it needs to be immediately.
