Charleston White, DB, 6-1, 170, Amarillo, Texas/Palo Duro: 2 stars. First-team All-District defensive back and wide receiver. 50 tackles, 2 interceptions, 6 pass breakups. Leach comment: “Can do a variety of things.”

Carlos Freeman, OL, 6-3, 290, Oklahoma City, Okla./Narbonne: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 25 college center prospect among high school seniors. All-State. District Offensive Lineman of Year. 4.0 grade point average. Leach comment: “Tough, mean, active offensive lineman.”

Robert Lewis, WR, 5-10, 160, South Gate, Calif./South East: 3 stars (2011). Grayshirted. All-Los Angeles Area first team. Ran for 2,023 yards and 23 touchdowns as senior. Ranked No. 10 all-purpose back in country among 2011 seniors. Leach comment: “Might be the fastest player on the team.”

Vince Mayle, WR, 6-3, 220, Natomas, Calif./Inderkum/Sierra (Calif.) JC: 3 stars. First-team JC All-American (All-California). Caught 61 passes for 984 yards and state-leading 16 TDs. Former JC basketball player. Leach comment: “Big and physical.”

River Cracraft, WR, 6-2, 205, Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Santa Margarita: 3 stars. All-County as a senior, All-State as a junior. Caught 51 passes for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Leach comment: “Tough, gritty player.”

Ivan McLennan, OLB, 6-3, 220, Lawndale, Calif./Leuzinger/El Camino (Calif.) JC: 3 stars. First-team JC All-American (All-California). 79 tackles, 91/2 tackles for losses, 11/2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 recovered fumble. Leach comment: “Extremely fast.”

Matt Meyer, OL, 6-6, 290, Lynden/Lynden HS: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 59 college offensive tackle prospect among high school seniors. All-State offensive lineman and defensive end. Helped past two football teams win 2A state titles. Also played on 2011-12 state basketball champs and 2011 state baseball runners-up. Leach comment: “Great feet, physical.”

Cody O’Connell, OL, 6-8, 350, Wenatchee/Wenatchee: 2 stars. All-State despite missing most of senior season with knee injury. Leach comment: “Probably the biggest lineman I’ve ever coached.”

Gerard Wicks, RB, 5-10, 195, Carson, Calif./Long Beach Poly: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 57 college running back prospect among high school seniors. All-State. Ran for 1,596 yards and 20 touchdowns. Leach comment: “Really explosive.”

Jamal Morrow, RB, 5-8, 180, Menifee, Calif./Heritage: 3 stars. All-Area. Ran for 2,092 yards and 15 touchdowns. Six 200-yard games. Averaged 9.96 yards per carry. Leach comment: “Good, shifty running back. Also, very physical.”

Isaac Dotson, ATH, 6-3, 210, Bellevue/Newport: 3 stars. All-Area. Passed for 765 yards and 11 touchdowns. Ran for 1,047 yards and 17 touchdowns. May wind up in secondary. His father, Michael, was an All-American wrestler at WSU. Leach comment: “Can probably play five different positions.”

Cole Madison, TE-DL-OL, 6-6, 270, Burien/Kennedy Catholic: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 42 college offensive guard prospect among high school seniors. All-State. Seamount League Defensive Interior Player of the Year. Leach comment: “He’s bigger every time I see him.”

Peyton Pelluer, LB, 6-2, 225, Sammamish/Skyline: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 51 college middle linebacker prospect among high school seniors. Three-time All-State selection. Played on past two 4A state champions. 55 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 interception as senior (missed four games because of injury). Fourth-generation WSU football player. Father Scott played at WSU and in NFL; uncle Steve played at Washington and in NFL. Leach comment: “Great instincts, great head for the game.”

B.J. Salmonson, OL, 6-5, 285, Everson/Nooksack Valley: 2 stars (2011). Grayshirted. All-State OL as senior, All-State DL as junior (and honorable mention OL). Leach comment: “Big, physical.”

Jacob Seydel, OL, 6-6, 285, Riverside, Calif./Arlington/Riverside (Calif.) JC: 2 stars. First-team All-Central Conference. Signed with UCLA last year, then decided to remain at Riverside a second season. Leach comment: “Long arms, physical, great pass protector.”

Gerald Sterling, DL, 6-4, 275, DL, Aliceville, Ala./Aliceville: 3 stars. WSU press release credited him with 15 sacks each of the past two seasons, plus 10 forced fumbles as a senior. Aliceville statistics credited him with 85 tackles, 17 sacks and 5 forced fumbles last season. Leach comment: “Country strong, not afraid of anything.”

Riley Sorenson, OL, 6-5, 320, Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita: 3 stars. Two-time All-Trinity League First Team. Leach comment: “They (Santa Margarita) had a huge offensive line; he was the biggest one.”

Daquawn Brown, CB, 6-0, 175, Los Angeles/Dorsey: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him No. 64 college cornerback prospect among high school seniors. First-team All-Region. Most Outstanding Defensive Player at Cal-State All-America Game. 55 tackles, 5 interceptions, 10 pass breakups. Leach comment: “Very explosive.”

Paulo Lepua, DL, 6-3, 265, Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne: 3 stars. Scout.com ranks him as No. 41 college defensive end prospect among high school seniors. First-team All-State. Los Angeles City Lineman of the Year. Had 26 sacks as a senior, 14 as a junior. Leach comment: “Uncanny ability to make a lot of plays.”

Daniel Etuale, DL, 6-4, 290, Pago Pago, American Samoa/Nu’uuli Technical: 3 stars. Ranked American Samoa’s No. 1 college prospect by 247Sports.com. Leach comment: “Yeah, he’s that big, and he can also run.”

Tyler Bruggman, QB, 6-2, 202, Phoenix/Brophy Prep: 4 stars. Scout.com ranks him as its No. 25 college quarterback prospect among high school seniors. Passed for 2,803 yards, 33 touchdowns, 8 interceptions as senior. Phoenix Metro Player of the Year in 2011, when he passed for 2,497 yards, 37 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Leach comment: “Real intelligent … very efficient. The ball comes off his hand quickly.”

Emmitt Su’a-Kalio, DL, 6-4, 250/Pago Pago, American Samoa/Kanana Fou: 2 stars. Despite American Samoa’s distant location, Su’a-Kalio also was pursued by Wisconsin, Utah and Colorado. Leach comment: “Real quick guy.”

Lyman Faoliu, DE, 6-2, 275, Vallejo, Calif./Vallejo/San Mateo (Calif.) JC: 3 stars. All-NorCal Conference. 46 tackles, 31/2 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery. Leach comment: “Incredible worker.”
