shout-out and thank you to the Law Enforcement Task Force in the Olympia area. As a resident of Olympia, it is reassuring to have agencies see a need, work together, come up with a plan and put it into action. To know that our community is a safer place because of the commitment of our officers to protect citizens and property, makes me very proud of our Blue Line.

As an employee of Capital Medical Center in Olympia, I am both proud and uneasy recently. Our UFCW 21 union is working diligently to negotiate a new contract with Capital Medical on behalf of employees like myself. One very important topic during this negotiation is the return of our approximate 4 percent 401(k) match.

I am so heartened to read that Gov. Jay Inslee and Oregon Gov. Kitzhaber have called on the federal government to study the full environmental impacts of coal export proposals here in Washington. Inslee has already worked hard to get approval for his Climate Action Plan this session, and I admire his efforts.

Bah, humbug! to decoration thieves

We also lost Christmas decorations a few times in the last 20 years. We used to always be on the Tour of Lights. Thousands of lights and 80 or so pieces, but no more so this year. We put nothing up, because over the summer our yard decorations have disappeared. We would like to thank all our friends and neighbors for the condolences that our decorations can’t be put up to be enjoyed by all.
