Soup & Song Benefit: This event, hosted by Love INC of Mason County, begins at 6 tonight at the Shelton Presbyterian Church, 1430 Shelton-Springs Road E. Soup will be provided by Xihn’s Clam and Oyster House, Gianni’s Cucina, The Strip Steak House and the Shelton Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Suggested donation is $10. Relay for Life events: Relay for Life and Veterans and Families for the Cure will host a bake sale from 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesday and dinner from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday at the VFW Hall, 2902 Martin Way E., Olympia. Call Billy or Linda Reese, 360-493-1642, for details.

Turning Pointe’s 4th Annual Brewhouse Bash: Relax, listen to good music, win prizes and help Turning Pointe Domestic Violence Services continue to help victims. The bash runs 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Grove Street Brewhouse, corner of First and Grove streets, Shelton. A raffle for a wheelbarrow full of wine is just one feature of this event. A silent auction will end at 7:30 p.m., and the winner must be present. Mail donation checks to Turning Pointe, P.O. Box 2014, Shelton, WA 98584.

Pancake breakfast fundraiser: Saint Martin’s University students participating in Campus Ministry’s annual mission service trip will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at The Worthington Center, 5300 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey. Breakfast includes buttermilk and blueberry pancakes, meat and vegetarian sausage, fruit and beverages. Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased at the door. Children younger than 6 get in free. “Give Your Heart to Literacy”: The Grove Street Brewhouse will host a benefit for Sound Learning from 8-11 p.m. Saturday at 233 First St. S, Shelton. Dance to music from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Admission is by donation to Sound Learning.

“Cooking with Xinh”: The Sherwood Guild presents its 13th annual event to benefit Mason General Hospital. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. March 24-25 at Xinh’s Clam & Oyster House, 221 Railroad Ave. W., Shelton. Tickets are $50 per person and are available by calling 360-427-3623.

thurston county food bank: The food bank needs clean, untorn paper grocery sacks. If you can help, drop them off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at 220 Thurston Ave. NE, Olympia.

“Paws Against Cancer” fundraiser calendar: The calendar is being sold to raise funds to help local families with pets fighting cancer. The calendar costs $20 and is available at participating veterinarian offices. For more information, call 360-339-3596, or go to olydog.com/2013-calendar.php.
