A Belfair woman was killed after crossing the center lane and colliding with another car four miles south of Allyn Wednesday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 8:44 a.m. on state Route 3 in Mason County.

Anne Louise Perry, 52, was driving a 2001 Dodge Neon south on SR 3. Perry was taking a corner and went to the right, over-corrected and slid into the northbound lane, according to a news release.

Perry’s Dodge struck a 2007 Subaru Outback on the passenger side. The two cars stopped in the roadway.

Perry died at the scene. The driver of the Subaru, 59-year-old Debra Higgins Dunlap of Grapeview, was injured and taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

“We are still investigating why it happened,” said Trooper Russ Winger. “Why she may have crossed the centerline and lost control there.
