Pedestrian hit on I-5 in Lewis County

An Alaska man crossing Interstate 5 in Lewis County Friday night was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a Ford Explorer, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Daniel E. Ranney, 65, was crossing the interstate at around 8:30 p.m. 18 miles south of Chehalis when he was hit by a 2001 Ford Explorer, driven by Tobi L. Scott, 45, of Oregon.

Ranney was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Scott was uninjured.
