Masked man robs Olympia Texaco on Black Lake Boulevard

BY JEREMY PAWLOSKI

A masked man robbed the Texaco at 2020 Black Lake Boulevard in Olympia while armed with a knife about 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, according to Olympia police.

Olympia police responded after the clerk called Sunday night to report the robbery. Responding officers learned that the suspect had entered the store wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt. The clerk said the suspect demanded that he give him several money and several "items" and threatened to stab him if he did not comply, according to a news release.

Olympia Police Sgt. Aaron Jelcick said Monday morning he did not want to describe the items taken by the man, because that is information known only to police and the suspect, and divulging that information could compromise the investigation.

The clerk handed the suspect the items and he left without further incident. A K-9 team was deployed and the suspect was tracked to a parking lot where the trail was lost. Police are actively investigating this crime. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call Olympia Police at (360) 753-8300 or Thurston County CrimeStoppers at 360.493.2222 (callers may remain anonymous).
