Woman held after shots fired near group home

CHELSEA KROTZER/Staff writer

Deputies were called to the address after 7 p.m. when shots were heard, according to Lt. Greg Elwin.

The woman, 51, claimed she was being chased by someone and allegedly threatened a caregiver with a gun before firing three shots from a handgun and another round from a shotgun. At least one shot hit the home.

No one was hurt.

“She’s apparently not of clear mind right now,” Elwin said, adding that she had been acting “delusional.”

Elwin said Sheriff’s deputies were called to the woman’s home located near the group home two weeks ago for a shots fired call.

The woman allegedly shot off rounds inside her house.

The woman was booked in Thurston County Jail where she is being accused of second-degree assault while armed.
