Temperatures dropping in state’s climate change

TumwaterMarch 2, 2013

Gov. Jay Inslee recently testified before a Washington state Senate committee that climate change threatens disparate industries in Washington, including downhill skiing and winemaking that rely on steady snowfall.

Inslee, the Senate and other Washington citizens would all be much less concerned about climate change threats if they were made aware of the official NOAA National Climatic Data Center reports indicating that our Washington winter temperatures have actually been trending downward at a rate of 2.86 degrees F per decade during the last 10 winters and that our Washington summer temperatures have been trending downward even more rapidly at a rate of 3.57 degrees F per decade during the last 10 summers.
