Council members will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 601 Fourth Ave. E.
The discussion will move to about the northern half of the Budd Inlet shoreline on West Bay and the north and east sections of the peninsula housing the Port of Olympia. Like last week, it will take up most of the council’s time.
A $16,250 computer visualization won’t be part of the meeting; it is expected on March 19.
Last week, the council focused most of its time on about the southern half of West Bay and the downtown isthmus. Notably, most council members supported an increase in the requirement to set back buildings form the shore to 50 feet from their earlier recommendation, 30 feet.
The state-mandated update to the city’s shoreline plan is the first in more than 20 years. The city is expected to submit its final recommendations this year to the state Department of Ecology, which will have the final say.
