Schools nonprofit picks new leader

Bill Keim has been hired as executive director of the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA).

During the past 11 years, Keim has served as superintendent of Educational Service District 113, which is based in Tumwater and supports 44 school districts and more than 70,000 students in southwest Washington.

He previously served as superintendent in the Mercer Island and Cascade school districts.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity,” Keim said in a news release. “As a WASA member, I have benefited greatly from the leadership of four previous executive directors. I hope to continue growing the excellent organization they helped create and effectively lead WASA into the future.”

WASA is a nonprofit organization that provides training, resources and legislative support for education leaders in the state.

Keim will begin July 1. He succeeds Paul Rosier, who will retire after seven years as WASA’s leader.
