Curtis Medved resigns after five years as Tumwater's boys basketball coach

Tumwater High School boys basketball coach Curtis Medved resigned Wednesday after five years coaching the Thunderbirds.

Medved, an Olympia High School graduate, was hired in 2008 at age 23. During his first three seasons as coach, he guided the T-Birds to three consecutive 2A state tournament berths.

This year's team went 6-15 overall and qualified for the 2A District IV tournament.
