What: A celebration on the 100th birthday of Washington State Parks and a chance to learn more about this popular horse-riding park. Discover what events are planned at the park this year. Kids activities will be available. The 482-acre day-use park is well-known for its horse trails and equestrian shows.

Where: Bridle Trails State Park, Kirkland
Getting to the park: Take Exit 17 off Interstate 405. At the end of the off-ramp, turn right and head south on 116th Avenue Northeast. At four-way stop, continue straight ahead. The park entrance is at the first opening in the trees on the left.
Cost: Free
Also: The main presentation will be at nearby Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, 12434 NE 60th St., Kirkland. See community nature photos, student art and science projects, horse-logging demos, equestrian demos by Lake Washington Saddle Club and meet the Karelian bear dogs of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. Presented by the Bridle Trails Park Foundation
