Cuts means daughter won’t get health care

I’m glad the Olympian is covering the health care cuts at Providence St. Peter Hospital (“Union Delivers Strike Notice,” 2/28). We cannot understate how serious these cuts are for our families and our community. My 9-year-old daughter had heart palpitations last year and we had to take her to Children’s to find the cause.

With Providence’s new plans, if she has further heart issues I will not be able to afford her care. With the new plans, I have less money to spend in our community and I’m going to skip going to the doctor unless I absolutely must.

I hope your readers will see through Providence’s corporate double-speak and support us in fighting these devastating cuts.
